Berean Bible Institute
Using Acts 17:11 as the key
verse, the ministry of the Berean Bible Institute began in 1994 with 5
professors teaching 35 students. Now after 12 years of ministry, 5
Ecuadorian professors and 4 CrossWorld missionaries teach a growing
student body of 79. Within 5 years the enrollment could reach 150
students eager to learn the Word of God. 29 students have already
graduated along with six more in 2006. The classrooms are rented
from one of the churches. Some of the classrooms are too small for
the size of the class. The institute board continues deliberating on
the need and possible solutions to a growing student population.
Many graduates are pastors, teachers, missionaries and church leaders.
Preparing Leaders for Tomorrow
The strength of the church in the
21st century is her leadership. Servant leaders are a premium these
days. But servant leaders must be the product of a successful,
Bible-based teaching ministry. Will the students be servants?
That is a key question for each board member, professor and missionary.
A good evaluation is necessary to insure that the ministry is doing its
job according to the plan of our God. Let us be servants in order to
train servants for tomorrow.

Mentoring Leaders for Tomorrow
An important role of the teacher
occurs outside the classroom. This is called the mentoring ministry.
Head knowledge becomes useable in the market place, as we grow in wisdom
and in the knowledge of God through His Word. One experienced leader
working alongside of a novice, can be a very important step in bringing
servant leaders into a fruitful ministry. It certainly will not
happen quickly and therefore, the ministry of the Bible institute is a key
role in the ongoing development of the Church in Ecuador.
Bible Teaching Leaders for Tomorrow
What else is there to teach?
The answer is not always obvious to everyone. If the truths in the
Bible are what men need, then it is biblical knowledge that will fill the
void in their lives. The Ecuadorian is searching for the truth.
It is our job to show them through biblical exposition that each verse in
the Bible is profitable for their spiritual life. Join with us in
being a good "Berean" as we search the Scriptures daily.

Compassionate Leaders for
Tomorrow
Seeing the world as Christ sees
it, is a key quality in a leader's effective ministry. As Christ
showed compassion to his "neighbor", so must we respond to the needs of
ours. What will a compassionate leader do? Only he can answer
the question in the context of his God-given sphere of ministry.
Would we train a Pharisee? Or a Levite? Not if we ourselves
have the compassion of Christ, in order to train others. A teacher
cannot lead another, except he has passed that way. Let us be
examples to those who would desire to become a leader. II Timothy
2:2 reveals four generations of leaders doing their job of teaching their
generation the "whole counsel of God." Let us be like them.
