Established Churches
All of these 10 churches
listed on this page are member churches of the Fellowship of Evangelical
Berean Churches of Ecuador. This fellowship provides assistance
for the churches when in need. The church remains independent with
their own autonomy led by a board along with the pastor to make any and
all decisions. These churches are listed as to their number of
years in existence beginning with the oldest.
1. Caluma
Caluma is a small community on
the coast of Ecuador. This church struggled for many years with a
pastor who had a very unbiblical testimony. When the decision was
made to change pastors, God opened the doors for new ministries.
The church has grown and renewed their testimony in the community.
Pastor Jorge Verdezoto is starting other churches in the area.
2.
Yaruquí

Yaruquíi has
been ministering for nearly 30 years already. The community
is a very fast growing area near the new international airport.
The valley is growing in numbers and the church desires to meet the
spiritual needs of the area. God is opening the doors for the
outreach into the community with the pastor Holguer Molineros and
assistant Pastor Fernando Bassler reaching these people for Christ.
This church has a major responsibility to the people.
3.
GuarGuar

The rural community of GuarGuar
has no small town, but is only a group of farms in a valley 4 hours
south of Quito. The church has remained open with one family
ministering alone in this small church. Pray that they will be
walking with the Lord and providing a good, biblical teaching of the
Word to the people who live near them.
4. Tumbaco

The church in Tumbaco is a
very strategically located ministry. The very quickly growing
suburban of Quito is a very important ministry. The church is
pastored by Manolo Carrión. The Berean
Bible Institute is located here. They are involved in a
construction project for more Sunday school space as well as larger
classrooms for the institute classes. God is blessing this
church's faithful ministry for many years.
5.
Pifo
The largest and fastest growing
church in the fellowship is Pifo. The church board ministers to a
large group of people. There are 5 pastors ministering to over 500
people. The senior pastor is Ramiro Báez.
The weekdays finds them ministering to 350 students in the christian
school. On Saturdays they have classes by extension for the Bible
institute. This is a church that has a very large ministry and has
a huge responsibility.
6.
Checa
Checa is a growing group of
believers who have a very mature pastor and ministry. The church
has gone through some difficulties but now have begun a good, positive
ministry. God will use this testimony for His glory until Christ
comes. God is ministering through these men and women to get the
message out to the world. They are near the new airport as they
welcome new people into their community. Pastor Bólivar
Báez is their pastor.
7.
Mulauco
An hour up the mountain, lies a
small community with a good church for the people to learn about God and
His Word. This church was started and has grown steadily since
then. Now with the people filling the building, they are looking
to add on more Sunday school space for the children's ministry.
God is blessing faithfulness. Any worthwhile church ministry takes
time and time it took to see the growth. Pastor Leonardo Haro is a
pastor who has a tailor shop where he makes suits and dresses.
8. Quinche
The church in Quinche has been
through some difficult times during its growing stages. Situated
in a very strong Roman Catholic community, the people have received
persecution along with threats to their lives. The church was
burned to the ground once; rebuilt and continues to grow. The
founding pastor went on to continue the church plant in Quito, leaving a
local man, trained in the Word to continue as pastor. Wilmer López
has been faithful as a leader in the church and now became the pastor,
leading the ministry. This is the first established church in this
small Roman Catholic community. Others have tried and failed.
God allowed this church to continue due to a faithful witness and
faithful people who remained under the pressure no matter what happened.
9.
Puembo

Puembo is a community on the
edge of the new international airport's runway. Strategically
located for further growth and ministry to a growing population ready to
move in. Most of these are unsaved and so this church has been
preparing itself for this future ministry. They are ready to call
their own pastor. They have a building that will be adequate for
200 people. This church has the responsibility of hiring their
first pastor to continue the growth, reaching out to the spiritual needs
of the people.
10.
Berean Bible Church of Quito

This is the first church
building in Quito. There are three churches in Quito under our
fellowship. The others are mission churches. This building
was finished in 2009. The church has a board of leaders who have
the responsibility to continue leading the church on to greater
ministries in a metropolitan setting. They are not paying a pastor
full time yet. The church ministers to hundreds of people each
week in their ministries for youth and children. The Bible
institute extension is located in this building. Very soon the
church will be able to pay the salary for their pastor. The
attendance runs near 100 presently. The building will hold nearly
300. Should this church continue the ministry already in progress,
God will build this church to a size of effective ministry.
