PRAYER FOR
MISSION FIELDS of ECUADOR
May 12, 2011
This week has been a special blessing to
each of those who were able to attend the annual missionary conference
of the Berean Bible Institute. The three missionaries from Colombia
challenged the attendees with the need of the gospel among unreached
people groups of the world. The emphasis remained firmly on those who
have never heard of Christ. The final evening the pastor directing the
service asked those who wished to become involved in missions to make
that decision public. Thirty men and women made that decision to serve
the Lord. Many were students from the Bible institute; others have not
started their studies yet.
What are the locations where
missionaries are needed? Let me share these places with you. Pray for
these:
1.
Chillanes
is a town with no bible teaching church. Two missionaries are working
there but no church yet.
2.
Milagro de Dios
is another location within Ecuador where one family desires to begin a
witness for Christ. Several students are visiting, evangelizing and
discipling in this small rural community.
3.
Pinuelas
lies on the Western side of Ecuador. The missions class will be going
there in June to do more evangelism. We’re praying that God will open
the hearts of these people to the gospel.
4.
La Bota
of North Quito has been our emphasis for the past six months. God is
working through evangelism and the home Bible study.
5.
CrossWorld mission has a couple working in Borja
which lies toward the Eastern jungles of Ecuador. What a blessing to
see men and women who have a vision for the salvation of souls.
6.
Conocoto
is a very large suburb of Quito. There are churches presently however
the need is so great another witness is necessary.
7.
Estero Lindo
is a community with believers and a church building but very little
witness and no pastor. The leaders of this small church desire more
teaching of the Word of God, so they may be able to teach others also.
8.
Cayambe
is a town with lots of ancient traditions in it. Dave and Brenda Meyer
are working to bring a solid witness there.
9.
La Concordia
has been visited by a team of students; the need is great; the town is
centrally located to reach into other communities.
10.
Valle Hermoso
is a small town near the new camp that is being used to witness and
teach the truths of God’s Word.
11.
Archidona
has a family who desires a church that is Bible-centered. Another is
going monthly to teach and encourage these believers.
12.
Magdalena
has three families who are attending church where growth spiritually is
not realized. Pray them.
These are 12 locations for a new
church. Thank you for praying for them and now let me share the
blessing during this month.
1.
Rafael continues to evangelize in La Bota and other locations
where there are open doors to hear. He is in the process of making this
a full-time ministry. Rejoice with us in that God has provided men who
desire to serve the Lord.
2.
Jaime continues to share the Word with his coworkers. One is now
studying the discipleship lessons with him and another trusted Christ
for salvation. What a joy to hear of these blessings through the life
and testimony of one of God’s servants.
3.
Darwin and Nelly have a great burden for the souls of those who
are living around their church. They desire to serve the Lord
full-time; are in the preparation stage of their lives; and God will use
them mightily.
4.
Patricia is praying for the Lord’s leading. She has finished her
studies in the institute. Her ministry now is discipleship and
evangelism. God is using Patricia in the lives of many ladies and young
girls to bring them to maturity in their walk with the Lord.
5.
Praise the Lord for Edgar who has been very sensitive to the
leading of the Lord; very faithful in his institute studies; and desires
to evangelize those in need.
6.
How joyful is the news of men and women who desire to serve the
Lord during their lives here on earth. Praise the Lord for those thirty
who made a public decision to serve the Lord. Now it is our
responsibility to guide them; teach them; encourage them and allow the
Lord to lead them into the harvest fields of the world.
7.
Eusebio has been facing some major tests of God’s call on his
life. His pastor, personal friend in church and Lynford are helping him
through these times of difficulty. In the end God has the victory.
These are battles of the Christian life.
8.
Continue praying for the work of God in the fellowship of Berean
churches; especially in their missions program. God has called many
into the harvest field. The responsibility of the fellowship pastors
must be to prepare them and guide them in the next step. What is the
next step? Training the church leaders to support their missionaries
must be a major point of maturity in each of our churches.
9.
Praise the Lord for His work in this year’s mission conference.
Lynford will be working together with the missionaries from Colombia for
follow-up ministries in missions.
Rejoicing in God’s provision,
Lynford and Sharon Regier
