PRAYER
FOR A NEW YEAR
January 7, 2011
The festivities of Christmas and
New Years are over. The decorations are coming down. The
storage room is put back in order for another year. Is
everything back to normal? That is the hope of everyone! The
reality is that with every passing day, the world is changing.
The seasons, the holidays are not the only things that change so
quickly. BUT we have a sure foundation! It’s solid. It’s
secure. Jesus Christ has given us the blessed hope of a
tomorrow that will be glorious. That’s our message. That’s the
truth to share with the world. Prayer changes our future to be
in tune with God’s will.
1.
The outreach ministry of the missions class was very
successful. Over 150 adults heard the gospel. Some trusted
Jesus as Savior. Children heard the message.
2.
The students from our Bible institute who were involved
in this mission outreach were taught some good lessons. Some
learned to be better leaders; others shared the good news for
the first time; and still others got over the fear of being in
front of a group.
3.
Praise the Lord for the faithful students of the Bible
institute as they learn God’s Word and serve in their local
church. God is working in the homes of each of these. The four
students who are having problems at home, have been seeking God
to resolve this need.
4.
How wonderful it is to teach God’s Word to men and women
who desire to walk with the Lord in obedience. There are always
those in church who are just curious believers, however in the
Bible institute the majority are eager to learn so they can put
their teaching into practice.
5.
Praise the Lord for Darwin and Nelly who are developing
into spiritual leaders in their local church. The Bible
institute has given them the tools to work with as they teach,
disciple, counsel and serve the believers.
6.
God has used the professors of the Bible institute in a
great way. Their example of spiritual maturity is of utmost
importance. We are very thankful to God the the team of
teachers with whom we enjoy working.
7.
Lynford is teaching hermeneutics (the interpretation of
the Scriptures) this semester. Three of the students have
learned so very much and now have a strong desire to learn more
and teach that to others. Two students were very apathetic a
year ago, but God worked to change their hearts. This brings
joy to our hearts. The pastors are also rejoicing when they see
this change.
8.
The year of 2011 will bring changes we are very sure of
that. What they will be? No one knows. What we are sure of is
that God is in control. The changes will be according to His
will. The ministry will go ahead with many changes. Will we
change to be able to make the adjustments necessary? Thank you
so very much for your daily prayers during 2010. They made a
huge difference.
Bring these petitions before the
throne of almighty God to ask for His will to be done. Our will
is not important.
1.
Pray for the new mission works that have no leader; no
church building; no formal meetings; no name; and no solidity.
That is the way each church starts. Now it is very evident that
we become involved in these communities during 2011.
2.
Pray for NORTH QUITO as the evangelism
ministry continues for the next three years. During that time
the new believers will be discipled; the children will be
learning more about the Bible; the youth will be having some
special meetings.
3.
Pray for MILAGRO DE DIOS (miracle of God)
as the team goes there to establish an evangelical church. The
need is great and the work will grow as God saves souls. This
community already has a small piece of property. May God have
His will in the lives of many who have experienced the miracle
of the new birth.
4.
Pray for CHILLANES as two missionary ladies
have been working there for many years. There is a couple who
have been praying about going there. He is a grad of our Bible
institute. She is a medical doctor. This is a perfect fit for
the physical and spiritual needs of a small town in Southern
Ecuador. Ask God to lead this couple there and meet their needs
as He wills.
5.
Pray for CHONE as the people hear of the
good news and respond positively. Some have been saved
already. Others are thinking about their decision. One man has
rejected the message of eternal life, however he is a very sick
man. His son, a student in our Bible institute, has gone there
this week to see him and talk with him again. Ask God to work
in his heart to bring him to salvation.
6.
Pray for ARGELIA in South Quito as God lays
this very needy suburb upon the heart of some missionary
family. An Ecuadorian missionary is discipling another family
right now and so the base is being laid for the continuation and
growth of a new church.
7.
Pray for CAYAMBE where Dave and Brenda
Meyer work. The church leadership is looking for property on
which to build a meeting place. God is able. The church is
raising funds for this project.
8.
Pray for BORJA as this new area of Eastern
Ecuador is reached with the gospel. A CrossWorld missionary is
working there with lots of fruit already. The people have a
small town mentality. That is both positive and negative. God
will save souls there and the church will be built.
Because God fulfills His will,
