PRAYER FOR THE BATTLE

 January 21, 2011

The enemy, Satan, is very active in all the ministries.  The darts are very deceptive.  He is the father of lies; the deceiver; the evil one; the old serpent and will deceive, destroy and kill.  However, we have a divine lawyer in heaven to intercede for us, Jesus Christ, the righteous one.  AND when we are in need each Christian has an intercessor inside of us, the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit prays the prayer of God’s perfect will.  Did you realize that?  Now meditate on this.  Every prayer the Holy Spirit prays is answered with a “yes”.  How precious is God’s provision for each of us.  Let’s keep the communication open to heaven!

1.      Praise the Lord for good health and strength to keep up with the busy schedule.  God has given us so many blessings in the ministry.

2.      God has been working in “La Bota” of North Quito.  The evangelist, Rafael, has an open door in the high school.  Each class will be hearing the truth of salvation.  That was not expected.  That’s our God.

3.      Rafael also had an opportunity to share the gospel with some older folks in La Bota.  They heard the message of salvation and then began arguing about religion.  Praise the Lord that the message was heard, but the opposition came very quickly.  Some will be saved.

4.      Praise the Lord a number of folks trusted Christ as Savior.  Now the discipleship begins in their lives.

5.      God has provided enough money for the new church in Cayambe to purchase a lot for their church building.  God is always on schedule with His provisions.

6.      Praise the Lord for Milton and Lourdes in Argelia who are becoming more faithful.  Luís is spending lots of hours with them in the study of the Word.  It pays to study God’s truths.  It changes lives and attitudes.

7.      Luís is a student in the Bible institute.  Discouragement has been a major road block for him.  Through the study and meditation in the Word, his message on Sunday was so powerful.  What a blessing to hear God’s Word taught with conviction and authority.

8.      Lynford’s class on pastoral counseling is bringing out many personal needs that the students have shared.  Not only does this help them, but those they are teaching and discipling.  Praise the Lord for the humble hearts of those who are studying.

9.      Sharon has had a great opportunity to talk with mothers of her children from Children’s Bible club.  She really enjoys the children and their learning ability.  Maria has been a huge help for her.  Remember, Maria was the timid lady, but now you can hear her share the truths of God’s word with enthusiasm and joy.

10.  Praise the Lord for many who have joined our support team.  We have over 250 daily prayer partners; 73 donors who are faithful with their giving; and more than 500 who have a strong interest in what God is doing.

Satan cannot stop the prayers of God’s people from reaching heaven.  However, he can stop the people of God from praying.  The deception can be so subtle that many believers will not even recognize the problem.  Too busy; too involved in other things; too tired and too busy with serving God are some excuses given for not praying.  Thank you for your daily prayers on our behalf.

1.      Five men and women are going to Milagro de Dios for their DVBS.  That’s right; January is vacation for the children in the coastal area of Ecuador.  Pray that these servants will be faithful as they proclaim the message during the week.

2.      Pray for the professors of the Bible institute that we would teach the Word of God faithfully.  We need clear minds, spiritual thoughts and God-directed words to teach each truth of the Word.

3.      Pray for Jaime and Miriam as they each disciple another new believer.  AND open their home for a Bible study.  God will give them a teacher for this study.

4.      Pray for the pastors of our churches who need to make many major decisions.  God will give wisdom in each situation, as they seek Him in prayer.  They have the same struggles with prayer as we do!

5.      Ask God to provide another work/ministry team this summer.  A need has arisen for construction and we’re asking God to fill that need in His time and His manner.

6.      Pray for the evangelism classes that Rafael will teach in February.  Our desire is to use these servants in helping with the growth and solidity of the new mission works.

7.      This semester in the Bible institute has experienced more illnesses in the students than normal.  Trials bring maturity and so we do not ask for healing but for the work of God to continue in each heart and body of these future servants of the King.

8.      The board of the Bible institute is planning for the second semester already.  The professors are lined up.  The classes are set.  Pray for the mission conference in May.  New Tribes Mission of South America will be leading this conference.  Ask God to call out some of our student body to serve in other parts of the world.

9.      Pray for the many activities that must be tended to each week.  Ask God to give us wisdom to do what is necessary and leave the rest undone.

10.  Pray for Seth and Bonnie during this month as they wait for their baby to be born.  It has been a good time for their preparation to be parents.  They will train this little one in the ways of God and His word.

Because every believer has two intercessors,

Lynford and Sharon Regier
