PRAYER FOR THE
BATTLE
The big news for the Regier family this
month is the birth of our eighth grandchild. Seth and Bonnie Killen
received their new baby girl, Aubrey Grace on February 14, 2011 weighing
7 lbs. 1 oz. and measuring 20 in. long. As I write this letter to you,
Sharon is in Cincinnati, OH helping for three weeks. I will be going
for one week in March. We are thrilled and God has answered so many
prayers during the labor and the birth. How can we be ungrateful in
times like these? Let us not forget the answers to prayer God has given
us this month.
1.
God is so good to give us another little one in our family. Seth
and Bonnie are learning to be good parents.
2.
Praise the Lord for the new job Brad has now. He is working for
Hawker Beechcraft Corp. out of Wichita, KS. God opened this door and
Brad is thrilled to be able to work on the Hawker 4000 business jet.
The family is fine and waiting for the arrival of a new baby in July.
3.
Dave and Brenda Meyer are visiting churches; thinking about
packing for their return to Cayambe, Ecuador on May 6; and enjoying the
winter snows and cold weather in St. Louis. The ministry has grown in
their absence and so they will return to more ministry than ever.
4.
Sharon and I are enjoying the blessings of serving a faithful God
who cares for all our needs. Each month that passes finds us thrilled
at the fact that we experienced more of His riches.
5.
The Berean Bible Institute began the second semester with
eighty-three students registered. Six will be graduating at the end of
this semester, IF they finish their work.
6.
Hector Estrada is our new teacher this semester. He was saved in
our ministry; went to Guatemala for seminary; returned married with two
daughters and now is teaching three classes this semester. We
appreciate his desire to teach and use his gift in the institute. Pray
for Hector.
7.
The ministry in La Bota (North Quito) has seen some exciting
growth. Still evangelizing, but the people who keep coming back are
more faithful now. That’s fun to watch. Rafael continues his ministry
of reaching the lost and will keep it up for three years.
8.
Rafael Molineros is the evangelist who will be teaching special
seminars on using painting in evangelism. Seven men are presently
involved in this seminar. Each one will be going out with Rafael to
learn and to evangelize. Pray much for these men as they hit the front
line of attack against the evil one.
9.
Four mission points are continuing the process of beginning a new
church. These need your prayer. Milagro de Dios, Pinuelas, Chillanes
and Estero Lindo have believers but not a church nor pastors. Pray that
God would open the hearts of our young men and families to go help these
new opportunities for ministry.
As we have seen many answers to prayer,
this encourages our faithful prayers. God is at work; God will answer
these prayers also.
1.
Pray for Jaime, Eusebio, Vicente, Pablo, Edgar, Hugo and Rodrigo
as they continue to learn the method of evangelism through painting.
Each of these will be accompanying Rafael in the evangelism outreach.
2.
La Bota has four more families with a desire to study God’s
Word. Pray for an Ecuadorian missionary family to go there to teach
these studies.
3.
The students of the Bible institute continue with their outreach
ministries of evangelism and discipleship. It is neat to see the
excitement they have for this ministry. Pray that God would call some
of them into missions full-time.
4.
The annual Missionary Conference will be held in early May. Pray
for the speakers, the missionaries attending, and the students as they
listen to God speak through His Word and through His Holy Spirit in
their lives.
5.
As God works in the lives of the students, there are many trials
that bring each one to their knees. Two students specifically are
facing these difficulties so pray for Jorge and Eusebio. God will bring
maturity.
6.
The pastors are facing three major decisions during this month.
One deals with changes that the Ecuadorian government is making. This
will affect each of our churches. The President of Ecuador has been
making major changes and now the changes will be affecting the pastors
and their churches. Ask God to give wisdom.
7.
Continue to pray for Jaime and Miriam in La Bota, as they each
begin to disciple another new believer. This will be new for them, but
they have your prayers to support them and God’s presence to guide them.
8.
Three churches are asking for special classes to be taught by the
Bible institute professors. Lynford will be meeting with each of these
groups to see what they need and how the teaching of the Word of God can
help them in their spiritual growth. Pray for wisdom that Lynford will
be able to help with understanding biblical knowledge.
9.
Pray for three young couples who are involved in the study of
God’s Word. Each of these is very interested in ministering in a church
plant. Ask God to guide them in their studies and then in their
placement of service.
10.
Sharon and I desire to seek God with all our hearts. Pray for us
as we do that for His honor and glory.
Rejoicing in God’s goodness,
Lynford and Sharon Regier
Quito, Ecuador
