AUBREY GRACE KILLEN
Well, if you have not heard you
will hear it now. If you have already heard the big news, you will not mind to
hear it again, right? Seth and Bonnie Killen had their baby girl on February 14th.
Aubrey Grace was born at 6:03 p.m., weighing 7 lbs. 1 oz. and 20 inches tall!
We are as thrilled as they are. I think! Sharon is there as I write this. I
will be going to Cincinnati, OH the first week in March. So our eighth
grandchild has arrived to enjoy. Thank the Lord with us, as all is well and God
answered all our prayers; no snow or ice; no surprises; no complications; and
Seth was near enough to assist; Bonnie did real well with the delivery; Grandma
Regier got there fine to help if needed; and the Killen grandparents were on
hand to receive their first grandchild. You cannot get any better than that.
God is good all the time. Thank you for praying.
EVANGELISM WORKSHOP
Rafael Molineros began his
ministry four years ago. He works for Open Air Campaigners Ministry in
Ecuador. This US based evangelism outreach has a Quito office also. Rafael
graduated from the Berean Bible Institute and now shares the gospel with
hundreds of adults, high school students and children. He does this full-time.
We have encouraged him to serve more hours helping us with the training of other
men and women, so that more can do the work of an evangelist in our very
spiritually needy communities of Ecuador. This weekend he taught a workshop on
the method of using florescent paints to bring Ecuadorians to Christ. With the
black light, it attracts the attention of everyone. With seven new beginning
evangelism students, Rafael’s goal is to help each one attain a level of
efficiency in sharing the gospel in public parks, schools, churches and homes.
Pray for Rafael and his evangelism ministry.
BEREAN BIBLE INSTITUTE
Eight teachers have prepared
their lessons to teach. Eighty-three students have registered to study. Five
board members have planned the school year. Therefore, this semester is on the
roll. What we need now more than ever is your prayers for these wonderful
Ecuadorians as they learn God’s Word and put into practice how to share it with
others. This year’s emphasis is evangelism. The missions class will be going
on three different weekend trips for the purpose of presenting the gospel
message with many people who have never heard the good news.
LA BOTA NEWS
There are five families who
have shown an interest in attending a home Bible study. The Christian family
whose home will be used is praying for someone to come teach this weekly study.
We’re praying that this will start in March. Evangelism continues each Saturday
afternoon. Pray that real soon the children’s Bible club will be started. The
children need this so desperately. God will direct an Ecuadorian family to this
new mission church plant. Do you know what “La Bota” means? It means boot.
The suburb of La Bota is shaped like a boot, therefore the name. Keep praying.
God builds.
MISSIONARY
CONFERENCE 2011
The annual missionary conference
in the Institute will be May 9-11. Please, be praying now that God will do a
work in the hearts of the students and believers that will be attending.
Lynford thinks this will be one of the best conferences in the history of this
ministry. The mission “Nuevos Horizontes” (New Horizons Mission) of South and
Central America will be coming to share the burden of ministry among the tribal
people of the jungles of this continent. Pray for wisdom in the preparation and
planning. God guides His children in their ministries. Our desire is to
provide the Biblical teaching and the mission information, so that each one can
make a wise decision. Pray for each student and believer as they hear the
message of God’s Word.
TEACHING OTHERS
Lynford has been asked to teach
Bible institute classes in three communities where there are churches. He will
be going there to talk with the leaders of each of the churches, so that the
Bible institute board can make a wise decision, as to what would be the best way
to assist these believers in their growth. The possibility appears to be
teaching in one church with the other leaders coming to one location. Teaching
one weekend each month would be very productive for them and their church
growth. Pray that we would be able to help these men in the leadership of their
churches. The Bible institute teaching must be extended to other areas of
Ecuador. We have the men available to teach. They are prepared to do so.
We’re asking God to give us wisdom in organizing this outreach teaching
ministry.
DISCIPLESHIP
EMPHASIS
“Making disciples of all
nations” was Christ’s command to a Church that was not even started yet. They
were disciples of 3 and a half years. They had heard the message through
Christ’s teaching; they had seen Christ’s work to confirm His divinity; they
were given the command to obey; now it is our turn to obey Christ’s words in a
world that does not want to hear the word “discipleship”. Prosperity,
fellowship, listen, enjoy, work are all words that are more important to our
ears. What does it mean for our Ecuadorian believers when we teach them to
follow Christ in their lives? It means their lives are going to be totally
committed to the final words of Christ. Their lives are going to be a
sacrifice, ready to fulfill those words. Whatever, wherever and however that
will be worked out through God’s leading in their lives. Pray that our
Ecuadorian brothers and sisters will understand all the serious ramifications of
“making disciples”.
PRAYER REQUEST
The major request this month is
for the work in North Quito. Pray that God will open the doors for a home Bible
study; that God would bring two Ecuadorian missionary families to this area for
more outreach ministry; that God would bring more fruit as a result of the
sowing ministry; and that God would be glorified in the lives of the believers
there. Would you like to hear more prayer needs? Write us at the e-mail
address below. We will be happy to add your name.
May God bless you in these
wonderful days of service for Him.
Because He loves us SO much,
Lynford and Sharon Regier
