PRAYER CHANGES EVENTS

 February 1, 2010

January has given us the joy of bundling up lots due to the cold weather in the USA.  You are used to it, but we are not at all, so it is something to get used to slowly.  What a shock to have subzero temps for a few days.  We were in Florida during some of that and the freezing weather was there also.  We definitely need to plan our trips to Florida much better!

  1. Praise the Lord for good traveling weather for our many miles of driving.
  2. The fun times of fellowship we have experienced during our time have been so much of a blessing.
  3. Trust you have contacted us to come for a visit to your home or church.  If not call us now soon because our time is getting filled up fast.
  4. This week has made us aware of some changes in Quito in which we rejoice.  God is working and there will be some very exciting events happening during 2010.  Stay tuned to more!
  5. Three teams would like to come to Quito to help with ministry.  Some youth would like to visit for ministry experience.  Wow, what fun to have our partners become involved in the work God is doing in Ecuador.  Four more teams are on the horizon to join these.
  6. Lynford’s mother came through a medical procedure well.  She is not of an age that bounces back easily, BUT God is faithful to give grace in time of need.  What fun to be here to be with her at this time.
  7. The financial picture of our support was very encouraging during 2009.  We could not believe how much God provided through faithful partners.  Every need was met.  Our faith remains strong for 2010, as well.  When doubts come God replaces them with the past blessings.
  8. The prayer partners are increasing in number every month.  Thank you for coming along side of us in the matters that is so very important to us and of course important to God.
  9. The news from Ecuador is exciting.  The Berean Bible Institute finished this first semester in the black, even though there were fewer students.
  10. Praise the Lord for the health and strength He gives us.  Lynford had a checkup with his cardiologist.  Everything is fine with no major episodes.  The defibrillator waits for the day!  May it never come!
  11. God provides so much.  We rejoice again.

Thank you for your prayers during the first month of this year.  Those who have just started, welcome to the daily prayer partner list.

1.        Pray for the Bible institute student enrollment beginning on February 1.  Ask God to bring 120 students into the classroom to learn of His Word and His will for them in their ministry.

2.        Pray for the teachers of the Berean Bible Institute during this next semester.  Each of them has dual duties as pastors and school teachers, so there is much to do.  Lots of ministry continues on during these days.

3.        God is opening the doors for more church plants and God will lead the men and women into these opportunities as you pray the Lord of the harvest to send them.

4.        Opportunities to serve abound in Ecuador.  With 95% Roman Catholics the work must continue on faithfully as many are reached in 2010.

5.        Along with evangelism, the leadership training ministry requires haste as the new churches are planted.

6.        Lynford knows of many churches that have no pastor.  One missionary outside of Quito asked him to send them a pastor.  Their fellowship does not have enough pastors for all their churches.  God has a major purpose for the teaching ministry of the Bible institute.

7.        Pray for the final months of home ministry.  We desire to do God’s will with our time in the USA during these days.

8.        May God open the eyes of many who are not willing to be involved in missions overseas.  Some have the desire; pray that God will prepare them for an effective ministry in our big needy world.

9.        Pray for God’s will in the future ministry Sharon and I have for the next few years.  This is important to the future interdependence of our ministries in Ecuador.

Thank you for your prayers.

Because God prepares servants for ministry,

Lynford and Sharon Regier
