NEW YEARS Edition

Vol. 18 No. 6

December 31, 2010

If the word for November was hard to apply in our lives, then this word will be possible only as God fulfills His promises for every believer.  The word for the new year is exaltation.  Believers will not exalt themselves.  God will exalt each one in due time.  His timing is more important than ours.  When will this happen?  The process begins when we leave this earth in the rapture.  Maybe this year!  Let’s look up, wait and work till that day.  In the meantime, let’s exalt His name together!

NO VACATION FOR THESE

That is right.  A long weekend of vacation from work saw twenty-five students, wives and other servants leaving Quito for the six hour trip to the mission base of Chone.  This is the location for the new church plant.  Many of the town came to hear the gospel.  Men, women, adults, children and young people seemed interested in the message and of course the extras the group had prepared for this area without a gospel witness.  The students of the Bible institute came back with lots of stories and joys.  One student said this was his first time to witness to others.  He was thrilled that God worked in his heart.  Each of the students must learn to exalt Jesus Christ in their lives.  These lessons are not taught in the classroom, but in the world where they will be ministering.  The more difficult part of an initial new church is the follow-up with a discipleship study.  Pray that two families will be open to go live in this town.

TRIALS OF 2010

You may ask, what were the difficult times in 2010?  Good question and the answer exalt our heavenly Father.  More trials mean more dependence upon God.  Lynford has been counseling five couples in their walk with God.  The men are students in the Bible institute.  It is obvious to see that Satan would like to destroy these men’s testimony even before they are involved in ministry.  How can a man be a spiritual leader with his home in shambles?  It’s impossible.  The battle is the Lord’s; His name will be exalted.  Stand with these students in prayer, as they fight the good fight to the end.

2011 GOALS

1.  Develop five mission church plants in Chone, North Quito, Borja, Milagro de Dios and Chillanes.

2. Send four Ecuadorian missionary couples to the white harvest fields of Ecuador.  Two by two is the biblical example.

3.  Prepare more servants to be sent out into the spiritual needy areas of Ecuador.  God calls His workers, as we pray.

4.  Encourage evangelists in the Berean churches to reach out to other areas of Ecuador, as an opportunity to build the body of Christ.

5.  God may be exalted through every activity, because He is working in and through each one of us.

6.  Emphasize a strong, consistent discipleship follow-up with lots of home Bible studies for the growth of many new believers.  Stress the obedience necessary to follow the Lord and His Word.

7.  Continue to minister to the pastors of the established churches, as they battle the enemy.  They are on the frontline with us.

  ENCOURAGING ONE ANOTHER

The students brought food stuff to fill the Christmas basket at the Bible institute.  Our desire was to help a family in need, instead of receiving a gift or even giving a gift to someone who would obviously be able to give a gift in return.  That is divine giving.  The treasure of the Bible institute received a cash gift as well, with which she was able to purchase perishable items to include in the basket.  The family, who was in the greatest need, received this with a grateful heart.  Is it not a joy to see believers acting like our exalted Savior?  He gave knowing we would not be able to repay the debt we owe.  He did it for us; we can do it for others.

ACTIVITIES FOR 2011

1.  Continue the evangelism outreach into these five new areas with a strong emphasis on the salvation through Jesus Christ.

2. Train others in evangelism in order to develop more ministry opportunities with more emphasis on salvation.

3.  Encourage the Berean churches to stand behind the Ecuadorian missionaries in prayer and finances.

4.  Guide the new Ecuadorian missionaries as they begin the work in their God appointed location.

5.  Strengthen the teaching ministry of the Berean Bible Institute so that each student will be properly equipped in their ministry for the exaltation of our God.

6.  Appoint three men to accompany Lynford in the leadership of the Bible Institute program.  Men who are prepared and ready to lead the ministry into a new phase of teaching will be chosen.

GOD’S BLESSINGS IN 2010

As we reflect on 2010, our thoughts go to the faithfulness of our support team around the world.  I say around the world, because there are team members in other countries besides the USA.  What a joy!  The 533 team members read the e-newsletter; another 217 receive it through the postman.  On our financial support team, 68 have joined together to provide for our physical needs during the year.  What a blessing!  The intercessory team members number 277 through e-mail; while another 55 receive it through snail mail.  If you would total up the whole team, your figure would be 750 members.  Wow, can you believe that?  That is our God.  In 34 years of ministry, we have never had so many who are interested in the work of an exalted God in Ecuador.  When God is exalted in our lives and ministries, then He can do the work as He wishes.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

In just a few hours from now we will be in the new year of 2011.  Our desire for all our family and friends is that God will guide and direct you each step of the journey through this coming year.  God desires that more than we do.  Believers have an exalted Savior who is interceding for us 24/7. The exaltation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is a very important part of our lives on this earth.

Have a wonderful, Christ-centered year of our Lord 2011.

Because Jesus is our Intercessor,

Lynford and Sharon Regier
